I started at Big Ant as a UI Artist, but gradually moved into a more technical role as I found my feet and gained confidence using NoesisGUI and working with our custom engine. In October 2025, I moved up into the position of UI Technical Artist in an official capacity. Throughout my time so far, I've worked on 6 titles - TIEBREAK, Rugby 25, Rugby League 26, AFL 26, Cricket 26 and an unreleased/unannounced title.
I'm proud of all my work on all of these titles, but there's been some clear improvement as I have learned more and honed my skills. Take a look at some of my favourite highlights:
The menu background in Cricket 26 was such a unique and fun feature to work on, with so many colours, animations and tie-ins to the buttons on the main menu!
Cricket is such a complicated game with a complicated scoreboard. Replicating broadcast graphics with a video game spin was one of the most exciting things I've worked on so far!
I had the opportunity to do a lot of design work on Rugby 25, most significantly on the competition themed HUDs! The whole project is super special to me, but these are some of my favourites to share.
The buttons on Cricket 26 gave the background its colour! Plus, the tile menu that the buttons lived on was my first step into making custom controls into C++.
The menu background in Rugby League 26 was my first time working on such a major feature, and I learnt a lot from the experience.
We needed a panel that would behave differently from stock-standard WPF panels, so I made one! (It's cooler than that thumbnail makes it look like)
I'm super proud of the work I did at AIE, but I also look back on it and think about how far I've come! I'm super grateful for the work I completed during my studies, because they've provided such a valuable skill base for me to build upon as I get older and learn more. I've come a long way since these projects, but I think it's important to keep them up so I can see where I've been, and where I can go.
